87 As far as I know her maiden name was O'Hagan and she was born in England 1830 but not sure as to where in England, but think her parents were probably Irish.Daniel was as I said born in County Donegal to William and Helen nee McLaughlan/McLachlan.They had 8children,3 born in Ireland Ann,Philip and Daniel.5 born in Scotland Bridget,Helen/Ellen,John,Catherine and William.William must have died sometime between 1830-41.Helen eventually went to live with her daughter Bridget and her husband in Kilwinning Ayshire(1861 Scottish census).Helen died at Bartonholm a mining village near Irvine on 13th September 1862.Her death is registered under the name of Helen McKearns. This discloses her Parents as Daniel McLaughlan and Mary Docherty. As regards the changing names .as you can imagine names can be recorded incorrectly and also phonetically. Also sometimes the Mc is dropped as may have happened with your William Cairns. As I stated before William,s sister Jane, born 1866 was my grandmother she died in Glasgow in 1921.My DNA is 81% Irish although I was born in Glasgow The difficulty in tracing my forebears is that quite a lot of Irish records were destroyed during the troubles. If you manage to find out where in County Donegal the McCairns family came from please let me know.Regards Angus. McLaughlan (McLachlan), Helen (I6109)

88 As of 11/2020, it is unclear if Sabina or fondella was her middle name.

“Her actual middle name on her passport was Fondella. We think Sabrina/ Sabina / Savina - whichever variation was her confirmation name and we know Aunt Sally was her Godmother.

On my dads birth certificate she actually listed Sabina!” -Jackie DiBenedetto Gridelli

She got her passport in 1982. Aunt sally was either born as Sabina or savina.
Defonzo, Adele Sabina Fondella (I4158)

93 Bill Mitchell found this while searching Westerly, RI records. "While noodling around in Town Hall records today, I found that Gerardo and Mariantonia had a child that no one in the Sculco family ever mentioned to me. Listed in the index for Westerly Deaths was a William Sculco. However, when I took a look at the actual record, there was no given name listed; just the surname Sculco with his parents listed. His stillborn birth and death date took place on 27 Oct 1905. That was almost a year to the day before the birth of Gerardo and Mariantonia's last child, Concetta Rosina or Rose." Bill Mitchell Sculco, William (I14355)

94 Bill Mitchell: Listed as Frederick in Town Hall death records. He died on 3 May 1918; not 4 May.He was listed as a miller. Cause of death apoplexy & chronic Wright's disease. Father listed as Louis Quattromani; mother Teresa ?.No obituary found in Library. Quattromani, Leonardo "Fedele" (I11656)

95 Bill Mitchell: Writing this from the Westerly Town Hall.

Francesco Q, age 32, son of Fedele Q and Rosa ??, married Rosa Moroca on 11 Jun 1903 in Westerly; most likely in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Her father was Santo Moroca; mother, Sabala ??. All spellings are as they appear in the records.

96 BIOGRAPHY
Bartolomeo Caracvzolus dictus Carafa was born about 1300, the son of Bartolomeo I Carafa and Teodora del Gaudio. A member of the nobility, he was a representative in the Parliament summoned by Robert d'Anjou, king of Naples and Sicily, in 1332. Probably in the same capacity he was also present at the signing of the treaty concluded in Naples on 17 June 1341 to ratify the anti-imperial league with Florence and other cities in north-central Italy. On 26 November 1343 he was appointed _maestro razionale_ of the royal court, responsible for its financial and fiscal affairs. In 1344, when the papal legate, Cardinal Aymeric de Chalus, came to Naples to attend to the administrative reform of the kingdom, Bartolomeo was appointed to his Board. On the death of _maestro razionale_ Guglielmo do Gioia, the papal legate wanted Bartolomeo to succeed him in office, and he solicited and obtained from Pope Clement VI a recommendation to Giovanna I d'Anjou, queen of Naples and Sicily, that she approve the appointment.

It is unclear if Bartolomeo participated in the murder in 1345 of András, prince of Hungary, the first husband of the queen, though it appears that he was among those who were reported on 6 March 1346 under torture by the steward Raimondo da Catania, who was arrested for the murder but managed to escape. However on 27 January 1348 Bartolomeo became a member of the provisional government of Naples along with Giovanni Barrili and six other prominent citizens. Bartolomeo is best known as the author of the _Cronaca di Partenope_ (Chronicle of Parthenope), a vernacular history of Naples written in the mid-14th century, whose narrative ranges from antiquity to 1343, the year of the death of Robert d'Anjou.

The work is dedicated to Louis of Sicily-Anjou, prince of Tarent, the second husband of Queen Giovanna, granddaughter of Robert d'Anjou. It exalts the noble heritage of the city of Naples and its leading personalities. In addition to the many folk traditions tied to places and relics of antiquity that are still recognisable, the Chronicle is distinguished by the attention devoted to the figure of Virgil, and in particular to a genre very popular in the Middle Ages, focusing on his legendary magical powers.

With his wife Mabilia di Montefalcione, daughter of Andrea di Montefalcione and Margherita Braida, Bartolomeo had two sons, Andrea and Tomaso, who would have progeny.

Bartolomeo died in Naples on 7 December 1362, and was buried there in the church of S.Domenico Maggiore.

Matteo Rosso Orsini was the son of Giangaetano Orsini and his wife Stephania. In 1191 Giacinto Orsini was elected to the pontifical throne. As Pope Celestine III (1191-1198) he was extremely generous to members of his family, presenting them with church lands and titles. His grandnephew Matteo Rosso Orsini, grandson of his brother Orso, became the lord of Mugnano, Monterorondo, Galeria and San Angelo in 1195. With his wife Gemma di Monticelli, daughter of Oddo di Monticelli, he had three sons of whom two would have progeny and the third, Giovanni Gaetano, entered the Church.

In 1241 Matteo was appointed senator of Rome and valiantly defended the city against the Emperor Friedrich II and his Roman allies, the Colonna family. The rivalry between the Orsini and Colonna families was to last for generations. In spite of this conflict, both families frequently intermarried.

Matteo Rosso Orsini died in 1246. His son, Cardinal Giovanni Gaetano Orsini was elected in 1277 to become Pope Nicholas III (1277-1280).
