Mike, have I got a story to share with you.  Earlier today Paula took Virginia to the assisted living facility in Westerly where her sister Antoinette is now living.  It just so happens that Dottie Sculco is staying there for the winter until Freddie Sculco and his wife, Ann Liguori Sculco, return from Florida.  Freddie is Dottie’s guardian.  I can only imagine what the conversation was like between those three old ladies.  It is just a miracle that Paula made it home without being committed.

But here is where things get interesting.  Knowing the research you and I have been doing, Paula asked Dottie if her mother, Immacolata (Maggie) Sculco, had any sisters.  Dottie replied that she had two sisters, a younger one named Carmenia (Carmela) who lived in Westerly and a half sister who was quite a bit older.  This would have been Agata.  And, Dottie said that she knew Agata and her husband had lived in Argentina; most likely in Buenos Aires.  Dottie has been known to be on the dingy side of things.  But other than having the birth order of Carmenia (Carmela) and Immacolata (Maggie) reversed, it seems that she has confirmed your theories.

As I was taught early on in my family history research, never, ever, dismiss family lore out of hand.  It is usually, no matter how embellished, based on truth.  Great stuff.

I think we can put this one to bed.  What an incredible coming together of stories.
