Edmond H. Ravenelle, 93, beloved husband of Antoinette (Campanella) Ravenelle, of Westminster St., Westerly, passed away at his home on Monday, June 13, 2016.
Born in Westerly he was a son of the late Ubald and Rose Ravenelle.
Edmond worked as a machinist for B.D.A. for many years. Following his retirement, he then worked for his son at SEACON Phoenix Inc. for 18 years. A communicant of St. Pius X Church, he was also a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, who loved spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he will be dearly missed by his two sons; Russel U. Ravenelle, of South Pasadena, Calif. and Frank A. Ravenelle, of Westerly. He also leaves four brothers, Arthur Ravenelle, of Westerly, Albert and Eugene Ravenelle, both of Pawcatuck, and Kenneth Ravenelle, of Voluntown; two sisters, Rita Adriano and Rhea Lenihan, both also of Pawcatuck; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Edmond was predeceased by two sisters, Lillian Ravenelle and Irene Nugent.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm St., Westerly on Friday, June 17 at 12:30 p.m. There is no procession from the funeral home to church. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
